Vision
Genesis 37: 1- end
Joseph had a dream of what was to come in his life and he told his brothers and father. Shortly after this, the stormy days of his life began. Just at the beginning of his “wilderness” experience, his brother; Reuben planned to save him from the scheme of his brothers but that was not the timing for the end of the storm; it was just the beginning of the journey to the place of purpose and fulfillment.
Joseph was sold off as a slave into a land where he was an alien; however, God still favoured him and brought him to a place of honor in his master’s house and soon became the ruler over everything that his master owned. That must have looked good, but that was still not his destination. Many a times in our lives, we get to a place where we are so comfortable and feel we have attained our goal and there is no other height to attain. If we sincerely seek his purpose and live for him, God is about shaking us out of that chair and taking us to where he purposed.
Joseph was still a servant but was honored and had authority in his master’s house but God wanted him to be the master of his present master. God has told some of us to let go of that job, that relationship, that house, that business, that lot in our life so we can gain him, to get the promise. He wants us to become the master of our masters but we are holding on tightly to the place of the servant while the place of the master is vacant for you to fill. If it has not happened, it’s about to happen, the test is about to come your way, you’re not at your place of destiny yet.
Joseph was faced with Potiphar’s wife and rather than take control of what was not given to him, he fled and landed in prison. As Joseph continued on his divine destiny, he must have thought time and time again if his dreams were just wishful thoughts; how many of us have had such thoughts cross our minds? I have, so many times.
Along came the butler and the baker with a divine mission. We need to recognize our gifts and never despise anyone that comes along our way in life; divine connections come in simplest of ways sometimes that they could easily be overlooked. Don’t say where have it gotten me; do not lose sight of the gift the Lord has given you. He told them the meaning of their dreams and it sure came to pass. The buckler soon forgot who Joseph was and went on with his life but God never forgets. Have you done well to an influential person and you expected so much from them? Well, your help is not from the east, west, north or south; your help is from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth.
When it was time to bring Joseph out of the wilderness into the land of promise, God gave the king a dream that confounded the wise because it was time for Joseph to be lifted and nothing could stop it. I tell you, when it is time for your lifting, nothing can stop you. All the happenings in your life that you say that if only that person did not…or that person had… it would have been like… just stop there and listen to this; When it is time for God to bring you into the promise, nothing can stop him except you. God is the master strategist and no one can beat him to it. He’s got the joker, he has the ace.
