10 ways to stay healthy in 2010.
Don’t worry.
Tomorrow really will take care of its own things. 2009 is over and never coming back. There will never be another 2009 but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Remember who controls time – He can restore lost years. You survived yesterday – focus on today and hold on to the One who holds tomorrow. Everything will be alright.
Laugh.
Try not to be too serious. Laughter is a gift from God. Proverbs 17:22 says it is as good as medicine. Receive it and enjoy it..
Take the stairs.
Exercise, but remember that while bodily exercise profits much, spiritual exercise does so much more.
Visit a new place.
God created a very beautiful planet! This year, pray about venturing out of your comfort zone and exploring the world around you. It may not necessarily be across the ocean, but it is always fun to discover new but interesting gems in our surroundings. It will bless you to see the wonderful creation of God – and to remember that He has an even better place awaiting us.
Stay prayed up.
Refuse to let your fire for God fade with the pleasures of this world. Continue to pray even when things are too hot to handle and too cold to touch. Prayer is what got most people through the difficult periods of 2009 and staying close to God will keep you strong in 2010.
Learn something new.
Try a new language, learn to dance, take cooking classes – the possibilities are almost unlimited. This will help you to be productive even during free time.
Nurture relationships.
Don’t let your friends continuously be the ones pouring into your life. Giving is one of the healthiest things you can ever do. It always comes back, that is the Lord’s promise. Water the relationships God has blessed you with. He will give the increase.
Memorize scripture.
Memorizing scripture is one very effective way to combat temptation. It keeps us during those difficult split-seconds when we do not have enough time to reach for our Bibles. We are commanded to put on the armour of God. It includes “the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
Stop comparing yourself to others.
It will only get you frustrated. This year, allow God to help you understand that there is only one you and He loves you just the way you are. Let His love comfort you before you seek it from other people.
