10 End Time Signs to Look Out for in 2010

MATTHEW 24.
Diseases.
. . . and there shall be . . . pestilences . . . in divers places.
The word “pestilence” means “a deadly or virulent epidemic disease,” or “something that is considered harmful, destructive, or evil.” (Dictionary.com). Look out for strange new diseases, increased violence and pornography on television screens and in commercials and video games. Concerning the United States Health Bill, “there is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Response: The Lord’s Name is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord your Healer. What a doctor cannot do, He can do and has done with ease. He says that A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. – Psalm 91:7-10.
Wars and Rumours of Wars.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. These are already going on. Look out for an increase in this as the days go on. Countries will break out in violence in Africa and the Middle East. Violence even in the United States will seem to be on the increase. Scary rumours will begin to be spread. Right now there are already rumours of civil unrest in the United States and other countries, as well as martial law, and bio-engineered diseases in some places. These will continue to spread and scare many.
Response: See that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Famines.
. . . and there shall be famines . . . in divers places.
According to researchers, 50% of the earth is unstable due to food shortages. According to UNICEF, 26,000 children die every single day from hunger-related issues. Bread.org reports that in 2006, about 9.7 million children died before they reached their fifth birthday. Almost all of these deaths occured in developing countries, 4/5 of them in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, the two regions that also suffer from the highest rates of hunger and malnutrition.
Response: Be generous to the poor; remember that God is your Provider. Hoarding out of fear will not help; seek Him for guidance and do not be greedy.
Earthquakes.
. . . and there shall be . . . earthquakes, in divers places.
In 2000, the United States had 2342 earthquakes. In 2009, there were 4031. In 2009, there were over 50 major earthquakes worldwide, with magnitudes mostly between 5.0 and 7.7. The number of earthquakes worldwide will only increase as the Lord’s return draws closer. Source: earthquakes.usgs.gov
Response: Draw close to God – the day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night. If the owner of the house knew the thief would be coming, he would have kept watch.
Afflictions/Persecution for the people of God.
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
Here at Yakuti, we have already had occurrences of persecution. It took us a while to realize that this is what working for God involves. However, in 2010, look out for decreased toleration of God’s truth. True Christians, who refuse to condone murder, theft, homosexuality, gossip, drunkenness, compromise, and immorality, will have their faith tested greatly this year. 2010 will be a time for many to choose between their job and God; their freedom and God; their fiancé and God; their money and God; even their life and God.
Response: Pray without ceasing. Count the cost. Remember that in this world we will have tribulation, but we should be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world. (John 16:33.)
False Prophets.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
They will talk about this being the year you acquire a Mercedes and move to the ‘burbs. They will speak peace in calamity and calamity in peace, and they will fear when their faith is tested. False prophets will continue to be exposed. Pastors of high standing will continue to get divorces, lose property and congregations, admit to secret sins, and even openly deny the Lord. Gospel musicians will begin to be exposed as well. There are a number of them working for the enemy – the children of God will see this and know the truth that sets them free. There will be people talking about buying gold and saving large chunks of money. The time is soon coming when gold will be worthless and money will not help.
Response: Check every doctrine and every supposed Gospel against the Word of God. Check every dream and vision you have against the Word of God. Refuse to accept that a man of God will speak things that God would not do.
Betrayal.
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Look out for broken friendships, cancelled plans, backstabbers and backbiters in 2010. You will truly understand that your friends are not the people whose pictures are on your Facebook or the girls who camp at your house every weekend. Your friends are those who rebuke you in love, stick with you in trial, pray with you in temptation and laugh with you during your joyful times. Politicians will betray each other. Employers will betray their employees. And governments will betray, hate and wound their citizens.
Hatred.
And then shall many be offended, and shall . . . hate one another.
Children hating their parents, parents hating their children, husbands and wives hating each other, blacks hating whites, whites hating blacks – these things will show up in interesting twists in 2010. It is already happening and has already happened. Look out for more of this.
Response: Remember that God is love and you cannot claim to love God if you do not love your brother.
Exposure.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
This year those who stay close to God will see the truth about those they have held in high esteem and even cheated on God with. People will understand that salvation is not doing what your pastor says, but doing what Jesus says. The truth will be difficult for many to handle. Churches that fleece their congregations will be made known.
Grace.
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved . . . And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
Where there is great judgment, there is greater grace. Prayers will be said by the saints of God and those who are His will truly draw close to Him in 2010. Miracles, signs, and wonders will follow those who believe in Jesus. The glory of the Lord will be seen in His church. The people of the Lord will be hidden in difficult times. The Name of the Lord will be exalted in the congregations of those who love Him and are true to Him.
